In a remarkable display of compassion and commitment to community development, the
Community Youth Education Empowerment, Inc (CYEE) initiative has made a profound
impact on the lives of market women and widows in Urueffong Oruko L.G.A, Akwa Ibom
State, Nigeria. As a people-centric, non-profit organization, CYEE has consistently
demonstrated its dedication over the years to empowering individuals and fostering
growth in the community.
In December 2025, CYEE launched a transformative program aimed at supporting
struggling market women and widows, providing them with the necessary tools to
revive and sustain their businesses. This noble endeavor engaged the support of
kind-hearted sponsors and stakeholders, who rallied behind the cause, recognizing
the immense benefits it would bring to the community. After completing the need
assessment in December 2025, the project was held on the 15th, of January 2026 and
St. Francis Parish Eyo-Okwong, in Urueoffong oruko LGA of Akwa Ibom State.
The program yielded remarkable results, with over 103 individuals benefiting from a
₦100,000 Naira empowerment grant each, carefully selected to support their
entrepreneurial endeavors. Furthermore, widows, who often bear the weight of immense
responsibility, were also recipients of this generous support, receiving ₦100,000
each to alleviate their struggles and rekindle hope.
The impact of this initiative was palpable, with the injection of ₦14 million plus
into the local economy, breathing new life into the businesses and households of
these resilient women. As a result, the community is now abuzz with renewed hope,
joy, and celebration, as the beneficiaries look forward to a brighter future,
empowered by the kindness and generosity of CYEE and its partners.
